A few other things about Busking round
(1) a few sentence about yourself/your team to be placed in the brochure for Busking round.
(2) photos of yourself/your team – you can send to us or we take the photos we took for busking round (upload on facebook album next week)
(3) Time commitment for Busking round
- You need to commit at least 3 hours of busking from 9-11 Jan. Busking timing for each day is 10am to 12 noon AND 2pm to 4pm.
- During the Crucible, pls let us know which timing and dates you are looking at. For your info, the judges are coming on 11 Jan, 2pm to 4pm

Congratulation! You made it to the Busking round! Check out the facebook for photos (more to be uploaded next week). We will also post the videos online for leisure viewing.

Before we start on the Busking round, we will be having the crucible (which is also known as the advanced workshop or boot camp).

Below are the details of Crucible
- Date: 30 Dec (tue)
- Time: 9.30am to 6pm (full day)
- Venue: Newton room, level 2 of science centre (the same place we had our audition)
- Registration: Main entrance (same place you register yourself for the audition)
- Schedule:
Morning= SIMPLE Game to know one another, debrief on audition, short talk on communication skills, briefing on Busking round+Final round (especially on the voting system)
Afternoon= each team/individual to perform a condensed version of the science show that you will be doing for busking round and /or final round. We have the professionals to give frank feedback. Your fellow contestants also get to watch

Finally the Audition round was over!

Do you know?

There should be different approaches in displaying the same science concept in different settings for the audition round (mini stage), busking round (really busking on the “street” kind), and final round (BIG stage).

But the key for all is to get people interested to know more about what you are doing. And these people can be walking around so your busking should be short and sweet!

Important tips to pass the audition round

(1) This is busking; This is showtime; This is a performance. Please do not give long lecture. We want hand action more than mouth action pls!

(2) If you have specific music to accompany your performance – let us know

(3) Things that Science Centre are providing will be available in the Newton Room itself. If you want to play safe, you can bring your stuff along

(4) If you are performing acts in extreme hot or cold (e.g. fire or dry ice), pls let us know in adv. Too much fire can activate the fire alarm system in Science Centre. We dont want that to happen

Essential information for all shortlisted contestants!

(1) Each individual or team given up to 5 min to set up, 5 min to perform and 5 min for judges to make their votes

(2) Your email should clearly indicate the time for your audition round. Pls arrive 30 minutes earlier for preparation/ finding your way etc

(3) Registration: Main entrance of Science Centre. Very obvious registration set up that you WILL NOT MISS it

(4) After registration, follow the signages to level 2

(5) On level 2, you will be ushered to the waiting room (name of the room is called Brain Station). Toilets are nearby and you can get your stuff ready.

(6) When your turn is up, you will be called to enter the audition ground (name of the room is called Newton Room)

(7) Get fired up!
