NJRC Finals
The intense competition of the past five days of the National Junior Robotics Competition culminated in the grand finals and prize presentation ceremony held this afternoon at the Singapore Science Centre Annex Building.

As with the previous five days, the atmosphere was supercharged with the energy and enthusiasm of participants and supporters alike. The crowds screamed and cheered as the finalists prepared to take on the battlefield, where the supreme robots would stand out!

But wait, that's not all. There's a surprise mission! Participants had to program their robot to perform the challenging tasks posed at the surprise mission playing field. Participants will have to muscle all their problem solving skills to reign in this arena. That's no mean feat considering the short amount of time the teams have been given. Would any of the robots rise to the occasion and succeed? The spectators gripped the edge of the benches in anxious anticipation.

One of the mascot spotted!

YES!!! The crowd went wild.

Cheers! and more cheers! Wow! truly deaftening!

The Awards Presentation Ceremony was officiated by Guest-of-Honour, General Lim Chuan Poh, Second Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education. There was also a very special address by Sir Arthur C. Clark through tele-conferencing from Sri Lanka.

The Championship Awards were won by Blade Breakers from Evergreen Primary and Peace from Admiralty Secondary. However, they were not the only team to be honoured. Meridian Primary received the Best Newcomer Award while East Coast Primary was awarded for Best Cheer Team.

Apart from the main challenge, several sideshows were organised to entertain the highly excitable spectators. Who could have known that putting two little robots in a circle would be so entertaining? The Sumobot saw teams from primary and secondary in an exciting final.

The festivities did not end after the challenges were over. Participants and supporters had great fun meeting up with old friends and making new friends. No doubt these students would be delighted to return to take up the challenge of NJRC again next year.
