| The
Singapore Sci-Fi Movie Festival & Family Weekend
2003
18
- 21 September 2003
| Under
the gorgeous velvet sky dotted with shimmering
stars, holding promise of alternate life forms
yet to be discovered, thousands flocked down
to Fort Canning Green to see mutant heroes,
cyborgs and giant alien robots. |
A convention for dotty people, you think?
No, it's the annual Singapore Sci-Fi Movie
Festival. Held from 18 - 21 September 2003,
the event returns with a fantastic line-up
of movies. Minority Report featuring the dashing
Tom Cruise, liquid metal cyborgs in the Terminator
double bill, all time-favourite Iron Giant,
thought-provoking X-Men 2 and the rascally
Jimmy Neutron.
The Singapore Sci-Fi Family Weekend held over
the weekend afternoons was extremely popular
with the kids. Alien Goo and Baby Rockets
were the hot favourites. Parents were also
thouroughly entertained by the out-of-this-world
science show performed by Dr Subra. Our Space
commanders, Ling Ling and Joy wowed the crowd
with water rockets, rocket |

and combustible bubbles. |

that turned up dressed in the sci-fi theme
were roped 'on board' by our space commanders
and won for themselves, free tickets to the
movies in the evening. Have a look at our
photographic 'evidence' of the strange looking
aliens spotted in the park!
