About science.03

Previously known as Techmonth, science.03 is a high profile national event, which reaches out to professionals, students and the general public to promote science, technology and biomedicine. It is a month-long series of events that encourages scientific discovery, technical innovation and biomedical awareness.

Generating and sustaining a strong interest in science, technology and biomedicine is crucial to building a knowledge-based economy in Singapore. Scientific and technological innovations have become the source of many new jobs and enterprises. Scientists, research engineers and technologists are the talent needed to drive the creation of new wealth. In addition, technological innovations affect the daily lives of every one of us, and we must be able to discuss intelligently the social, ethical and other implications of science, technology and biomedicine as they impact us.

Amidst all the fun and festivities, we hope to create a greater awareness of science, technology and biomedicine amongst the public, and to inspire and inculcate an interest in our youth to pursue science as a career. science.03 also aims to enhance the profile of the R&D community by according greater recognition, as well as providing an excellent opportunity to showcase the latest technology and research.
